Avery Kern is an American singer, songwriter, and musician based in Nashville, TN, whose blend of heartfelt lyrics and captivating vocals has been winning over audiences nationwide. Most recently, Avery achieved a career-defining milestone as the songwriter behind "Scenic Route," recorded by the legendary "Queen of Bluegrass" and Grand Ole Opry member Rhonda Vincent for her album, A Possibility. Avery also lent her vocals to the studio track, which rapidly climbed the charts to hit #1 on the Apple iTunes Top 100 Bluegrass Songs chart. To celebrate the song release, Avery made her debut live performance alongside Vincent on the historic stage of the Grand Ole Opry.
A former contestant on Season 18 of American Idol, Avery advanced to the final stages of Hollywood Week, placing in the top 68. Born and raised in Pawnee, IL, she began performing acoustic shows in high school before earning a Bachelor of Science in Songwriting with a minor in Music Business from Belmont University. Since then, Avery has been steadily carving her path in Music City, releasing standout original songs including "Better Than Mine"—a 2024 American Songwriter Magazine Song Contest semi-finalist—along with "Old Habits," "Playboy," and "Carsick."
An experienced live performer, Kern has graced some of Nashville's most celebrated stages, including The Grand Ole Opry, The Bluebird Café, 3rd & Lindsley, The Basement, Fox & Locke, and Kimbro's Pickin' Parlor, alongside frequent sets at Broadway’s famous honky-tonks. Her sound blends deep country traditions with contemporary feelings, showcasing a rich emotional depth and musical versatility. Whether fronting a high-energy full band or delivering a stripped-back acoustic set, Kern remains dedicated to her core artistic mission: creating authentic music that truly resonates with her audience.
