Artist Bio

Avery Kern is an American singer, songwriter, and musician based in Nashville, TN, who has gained attention for her original music and acoustic covers. As a contestant on Season 18 of American Idol, she reached the final stages of Hollywood week, finishing in the top 68.

Born and raised in Pawnee, IL, Avery began playing acoustic shows in local venues during high school.   She continued her education at Belmont University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Songwriting with a minor in Music Business.  Since moving to Nashville, Avery has been steadily carving out her place in Music City – writing and releasing new songs like Better Than Mine, Old Habits, Playboy, and Carsick.  She can be found performing at venues renowned for showcasing songwriters and artists, such as The Bluebird Café, The Basement, and Fox and Locke, as well as in the honky-tonks on Broadway, which is the heart of the Nashville music scene. Avery’s song, Better Than Mine, was a semi-finalist in the American Songwriter Magazine 2024 Song Contest

Drawing inspiration from a variety of genres, Avery’s music carries the spirit of country tradition while embracing a modern edge.  Avery’s unique and captivating vocal style allows her to effortlessly move between genres, showcasing her range and adaptability.
